First Lutheran Church Food Pantry
Many low-income, food-insecure households and twenty-plus Farmers Market food vendors benefited from the first year of the coupon program. Now that Food Pantry clients are familiar with the coupons and how to use them, the demand and usage will undoubtedly increase in the 2016 second season. The program plans for a minimum $25,000 budget this year and is soliciting funds from as many sources as possible to meet that goal. Farmers Market vendors expressed great appreciation for their increased sales; coupon users enthusiastically accepted and used the program; the community at large received the concept and the enhanced nutrition and interpersonal contact at the Market very positively.
