Junior Achievement in Southeast Missouri
The mission of Junior Achievement, founded in 1919, is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. With support from positive adult role models who volunteer their time, JA enables students to understand business, citizenship, economics, entrepreneurship, ethics/character, financial literacy, and workforce readiness. JA programs encourage confidence and motivate young people to achieve their personal, educational, and career goals. These learning experiences establish the foundation upon which today's youth can acquire skills and aptitudes necessary to succeed in an ever-changing world. Junior Achievement programs bring a real world perspective to learning, adding a relevant element to the educational component. To become productive citizens in the U.S., students need to compete globally. Students need opportunities to understand their responsibilities towards becoming productive, effective, and ethical employees and employers the future is already demanding. JA makes understanding local, national, and global economics fun and engaging, at all levels.
