Paws Rescue created “Project Fix it!” to help reduce the number of homeless cats, kittens, dogs and puppies throughout Vicksburg and Warren County. The ASPCA estimates that 7.6 million cats and dogs end up in shelters every year and 2.4 million adoptable cats and dogs are euthanized. “Project Fix it!” provides the elderly, disabled, and/or low-income residents of Vicksburg and Warren County with low-cost vaccinations and spay or neuter surgeries by only requiring a copay of $25 for cats and $40 for dogs. Paws Rescue is also partnered with Vicksburg City Animal Control to fund the vaccination and spay or neuter of any dog or cat adopted from their facility. Through aggressive spay/neuter programs such as “Project Fix it!”, Paws Rescue provides a valuable service for the citizens of Vicksburg and Warren County by reducing the number of homeless cats, kittens, dogs and puppies in our community.
